HCC AGM SATURDAY NOVEMBER 21 (Covid Version) – 5-6 pm

HCC AGM SATURDAY NOVEMBER 21 (Covid Version) – 5-6 pm

AGM via Microsoft Teams – Members, if you did not get an email with a link, please email us before Saturday to have one sent to you.

We are all acutely aware of the daily rising numbers and sadly, no party for our club this year. However, we can celebrate 3 months of being able to ride together and that was certainly a highlight!

Elections will be held during the meeting for all positions. Due to other commitments, Bernadette, Walter and Sonya are stepping down this year so positions will need to be filled. If you’d like to know more about the positions in advance, please contact one of the executive. We do need someone for communication (social media, website updates and emails). This can be a shared role.

It won’t be all business so please join us on Saturday. Ironically, it seems appropriate to wrap up 2020 with a digital AGM so feel free to wander to your fridge (with your laptop in tow) to grab a cold one as we celebrate the weirdest cycling season ever via a little window on your computer screen.

Group Rides postponed until allowed by ABA

We are so sad to be posting this since all of us have been really waiting for April 1st and the launch of our HCC 2020 season.

As per the recommendation of Alberta Bicycle Association, group rides are postponed until the health risks have subsided and restrictions to reduce the spread of the virus have been lifted. This will be reviewed by ABA on May 6. Please visit ABA for more information.

This doesn’t mean you can’t respect “social distancing” and ride your bike. It means that we are unable to provide club rides. Thank goodness spring is here. Take care of eachother, cycling friends!

We, Highwood Cycling Club, will see you soon. This too shall pass!

Two-Day Cycling Trip – end of August 2020

During Kick Off Night, Paul announced a Two-Day Cycling Trip. Details and logistics are being worked out but if you’re interested, please email us to get your name on the list. This doesn’t commit you but it does get you on the communication list.

2020 Kick Off Night

It’s kind of like Christmas Eve for our HCC club! Join us on Thursday, March 12 at 7 pm at Ridley’s Cycle in Okotoks for an evening of information, visiting, and special deals to KICK OFF our upcoming season of most wonderful time of the year! Everyone welcome!

Like last year, Ridley’s will be offering a discounted “bulk” pre-season purchase on tubes, Gatorskin 25c and 28c tires, a selected gravel bike tire, a favourite head & tail lights and exclusive SALE on clothes.

Garneau Fit Kits for 2020 HCC Kits will be on hand to try on for your new kit order.

And online HCC registration will be OPEN! Exciting news…registration fees are being reduced.

See you on Thursday, March 12 at Ridley’s!

2020 HCC Kit Information

Hello all,

The Highwood store is open for kit orders. We will also have fit kits that will be available at the Season kick-off night, March 12th, for those who want to try on kits for sizing before placing an order.

Remember, the “Mondo 3” jersey is a race cut and fits one size smaller. The “Slick 3 Jersey” is a standard fit jersey.

The “Lazer Grip Bib” is also a race cut. We will have a standard fit Bib called the “Tour Bib Motion Airgel,” which is a standard fit. (Not on storefront yet).

We have added a new lightweight jacket to this year’s selection –  Blast Jacket. It can be folded and stored in your jersey pocket.

You may also notice that we do not have accessories available. They were not big sellers, so we removed them from the store that way, the club would not have to purchase the shortfall on orders.

As with previous seasons, our club minimum is 50-99 items. Any shortfall on this total number and the club is responsible for the purchase of any outstanding quantities, SO MAKE SURE YOU ORDER YOUR ITEMS. You can never have too much kit.

Any questions, please contact Walter at 403.710.0699.
